Roscoe Village Retreat
Roscoe Village, Chicago

This outdoor space was designed by Stephen Prassas from Prassas landscape studio. Together we were successful in fulfilling the owners desire for a Japanese style garden. Amongst the new blue stone slabs and luxurious landscaping - including sumac, dogwood and viburnum - is a cedar deck with bamboo railings and privacy screening. The handmade traditional Japanese water feature/ paired with rain barrels solved a flooding issue that the owners had in their back yard.

An urban garden oasis was created in the Roscoe Village neighborhood of Chicago.

This project won several awards including 2009 ILASLA merit award and 2009 Mayor Daley’s landscape awards program – (1st place specialized gardens.) It was also featured in 2008 May/June issue of Chicago home.
